Thank a Veteran …

Today is Veteran’s Day – an annual federal holiday honoring the 24.9 million military veterans in the United States.  It is a holiday that is observed on November 11 (or the nearest weekday) – the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.

U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for the US on November 11, 1919.  In 1953, a campaign was started to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War I.  President Dwight Eisenhower signed this bill into law on May 26, 1954.

Congress amended this on June 1, 1954, replacing the word “Armistice” with “Veterans,” and it has been known as Veteran’s Day ever since.

We, at MDT, honor those who have fought for America and died for its freedom.

Episys Quest II

Episys Quest is Symitar’s new user interface for the Episys core system.  It is included with the core system at no additional cost to credit unions.

Some features include:

Refreshed Icons

All of the icons have been redesigned with a new look for Episys Quest.  The icons display in alphabetical order across the toolbar.  A tooltip with the functional area name will display when the mouse hovers over an icon.  You can also navigate using the classic Navigate menus.

Related Functions

There is a new Related Functions link in the top-right portion of each functional area.  This link is used to display a pop-up menu to quickly navigate to other business functions.

Select Recent Account

Sometimes the context of a top-level record (such as an Account record) is required, so in Episys Quest, a screen displays with two panels.  The panel on the left contains the classic search function.  The panel on the right contains a list of up to twenty of the most recent accounts you have accessed, letting you return quickly to the last several accounts you worked.

Collapse and Expand Display Blocks

Each screen in Episys Quest consists of one or more panels (or display blocks).  Display blocks marked with a chevron ( << ) can be collapsed and expanded to change their screen area (blocks can also be sized manually).

Episys Quest and the Episys Windows Interface

Episys Quest runs concurrently on the same workstation as the Episys Windows Interface (EWI) without issue.  Quest also features a familiar layout and structure closely related to the current Windows interface.  This significantly reduces the learning curve for users moving from EWI to Episys Quest.  Users can intuitively perform all the same functions they perform today in the Windows interface.
